| How To Avoid Music Disappointments
Be sure your contract lists the
date and site of the reception, time the disc jockey
should arrive, number of hours the D.J. will play, cost
including overtime rate, style of music to be played,
and special requests. |
|
Reception Music
Music sets the tone of your reception.
Double J Productions gives you a variety of music to
choose from. The choice is yours: 50's, 60's, 70's,
to present including Top 40 and dance music. We work
with you in choosing the right music. It's hard to please
everyone. That's why we carry an extensive selection
of music.
Most guests prefer softer music
while eating and socializing. Here are some tips from
Double J Productions:
Be sure the music is soft and in the background while
eating.
The music should be continuous and set a relaxed atmosphere.
Dinner music is not upbeat. It's usually instrumental.
Double J recommends: Kenny G, David Sanborne, Richard
Elliot, Pride & Politix and Luther Vandross just
to mention a few. |

Advantage of Recorded Music
Recorded music is a popular option
at a wedding. Advantages are:
- Disc Jockeys and their equipment are now of excellent
quality.
- The setup requires less space.
- Songs sound exactly as recorded and a wide variety
is available.
- The music is continuous.
Remember there are alot of disc
jockeys!
If you want a disc jockey, find out in advance how he/she
works. Some pride themselves on sizing up the crowd
or sensing the pace of the party and don't like to take
requests. Others only specialize in certain types of
music. If you and the groom/bride have specific musical
preferences make sure the disc jockey you hire is willing
to play them. |

Contracts
When signing a contract, list
the hours to be worked, agreed fee, and overtime policy.
Discuss the reception site, appropriate attire, name
of disc jockey, time of the first dance, style of music
to be played, and particular songs. If the D.J. is not
familiar with the reception site, meet prior to the
wedding and discuss setting up and other necessities. |
